BOISE ART MUSEUM ANNOUNCES

Melanie Fales, BAM’s Executive Director/CEO selected for The Getty Leadership Institute

The Getty Leadership Institute (GLI) at Claremont Graduate University (CGU) has announced that Melanie Fales, Boise Art Museum’s Executive Director/CEO, is among the selection of museum leaders from throughout the world who will participate in its 2018 Executive Education Program for Museum Leaders.

Fales will be part of a 37-member cohort of participants from the United States and ten other countries representing Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, and North America. Competitive entry requires nominations and support from host institutions and recommendations from recognized leaders in the museum field. Selection criteria also includes candidates’ detailed analysis of the challenges they face in the immediate future; commitment to the museum field; creativity; broad strategic thinking; and the ability to influence policy and affect change at their institutions.

“I am honored to have been chosen and look forward to learning alongside my peers within an international cadre of museum professionals in this prestigious program,” Fales said. The intensive and rigorous curriculum aims at deepening participants’ leadership skills to enhance their abilities to navigate challenges at their museums as well as to advance the museum field at large.
