Hours & Admission

Schedule Your Visit
If you would like to schedule your visit in advance and expedite the admissions process, you may pre-purchase your tickets online (including members and individuals who receive free admission). We request that you schedule your visit at least 2 hours in advance of your visit.

No Gum, Food, or Drink
Please leave gum, food, and drink at home or in your vehicle, or discard before entering the Museum. You can have a picnic in the public park or visit nearby restaurants downtown.

Bags, Backpacks, and Strollers
Please leave your bags, backpacks, large strollers, and personal items at home or in your vehicle, or ask about BAM’s self-serve lockers. Child carriers can be worn on your chest. You can borrow smaller strollers from Associates at the admissions counter.

Keep a Safe Distance
Please don’t touch the artwork. Keep a distance of at least one foot. You can help BAM keep artwork safe by not touching artwork or leaning on walls and cases.

Photography of any kind is not allowed in the Museum. Please put away your camera and silence your cell phone. You can take important calls outside the entry or in the Sculpture Garden. You can use your cell phone to access BAM’s audio guides.

Pencils Only
Please use only pencils when taking notes and sketching. You can borrow clipboards and pencils from staff at the admissions counter. Folding stools are available throughout the Museum.

Young Visitors
Please accompany children at all times so you can enjoy your visit together and help them follow the Museum Manners.

Watch the Video
Please help young visitors understand the Museum Manners. You can watch the animation ‘Why Art Museums Have Rules’ below.

BAM staff members are here to help. You can find Associates at the admissions counter if you have questions.

Welcome to the Boise Art Museum (BAM)! BAM is committed to accessibility and inclusion. We believe that exhibitions designed with the needs of a range of people of varying abilities enrich the experiences of all visitors.

BAM has designated accessible parking and a barrier-free entrance located at the front of the Museum. Wheelchairs are available free of charge, on a first-come, first-serve basis. The Museum is equipped with an accessible drinking fountain, and public restrooms each have an accessible stall.

Visit the BAM Store to borrow wheelchairs, large-print labels, assisted listening devices, and sensory packs. For audio guides and ASL videos, find icons and QR codes located on signs near each exhibition’s entrance and on the walls next to select artworks. Exhibition-specific accessible content is also available on each exhibition’s webpage.
