Come see "Four Masterworks from the National Gallery of Art" on display at BAM now! boiseartmuseum.org/exhibition/four-masterworks-from-the-national-gallery-of-art/Art belongs to the people. That’s why, over the next two years, we’re taking some of our collection out of DC, and into communities across the country.Through our new initiative, “Across the Nation,” we’re partnering with ten regional museums—from Alaska to North Carolina—to showcase masterpieces from our collection as part of America’s 250th anniversary commemoration. Our goal is to make fine art more accessible than ever before.Learn more about this project ➡️ bit.ly/4jSrDYE ... See MoreSee Less

Visit BAM this weekend to be among the first to experience the new exhibition “Bean Finneran: Curves, Cones, and Rings.” Bean Finneran has been at BAM during the last 10 days constructing site-specific sculptures, using her established technique of easing and entwining together thousands of thin, handmade, ceramic forms she calls “curves.” When gently positioned and layered directly on the floor, they create large, nest-like structures the artist terms “floor cones” and “floral rings.” The cones and rings gain structural integrity from each small curve’s relationship to its neighbor, suggesting the interconnectedness of nature, Finneran’s ultimate inspiration. boiseartmuseum.org/exhibition/bean-finneran-curves-cones-and-rings/ (Pictured: BAM installation detail of “Bean Finneran: Curves, Cones, and Rings”)(Image description: Four abstract sculptures rest on a reflective, grey gallery floor. Each is constructed with thousands of intertwined thin, curved rods, which create a spiky, grass-like texture on the rounded forms. A yellow, green, and pink ring-shaped sculpture appears in the foreground, with a light blue conical sculpture in the background. A white mound, and a low black sculpture are also visible in the space.) ... See MoreSee Less
